9 Months Old

Since Chazz will be 10 MONTHS OLD in a couple days, I figure I should post this, huh?
-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-

Well Chazz-man,
Here we are, at nine months old. You have been an “outside baby” just as long as you were inside the belly. And I know I will say this again and again, but this really is the best month yet. You are becoming so independent and personable. We’re so proud of the little man you are turning into. My, how your Daddy beams when someone mentions how handsome/sweet/charming you are.

This month has been a big change for all of us. You have grown a ton, popped 6 teeth through, and say Mama and Dada with intent. With Mommy back at work part time, our days are a little different, but you’ve been a champ through it all. You are quite the expert crawler, moving at lightning speeds across the room. You also love to pull up on any and everything to stand. You’re becoming more daring about standing up, often only holding on with one hand. Twice now, you have let go to try out standing on your own. A brave little guy!

You are well on your way to being a toddler. To being a ONE year old! (seriously, HOW DID THAT HAPPEN??) And yes, the party planning is in full swing already. But for now, we are just taking it all in, and enjoying these last few months of babyhood.

And Baby Boy… just stay the charming and determined little bugger you are, and nothing will be impossible.

Love you,
Mom

I Found Him On The Ceiling Eating Goldfish

I mentioned Chazz was more mobile…

Last month, he was barely scooting around. As of late, he’s trying his hardest to climb the walls. He can crawl up and over anything.

I have to put him in his packnplay in the kitchen while I cook breakfast. For fear I might find him on the ceiling…

And this boy isn’t much interested in crawling. He wants to walk. He has perfected pulling up on everything. Especially in the packnplay. But I don’t think he wants to just stand there, he’s plotting how to get out! You can tell he just wants to be cruising from couch to couch, and he’s pretty dang close.

The first few days were scary. (And still are!) He pulls up, and until just yesterday, had no idea how to get down again. So he’d whimper, and I’d help him back down on his little bum, only to watch him pull back up to stand. Aaand Repeat.

Stand. Whimper. Sit. Repeat. : )

He finally figured out that he can let one arm go and dangle to sit. But he only remembers half the time. So thank goodness he still needs his Mommy to come rescue him!

A Big Bad 8 Month Old

Chazz,

You have almost been an “outside baby” as long as you were an “inside baby.” And you’re crawling closer and closer to One. This last month has been a busy one for you, Mr. Chazz. Not only are you growing in leaps and bounds, but you’re also turning into such a kid. A little-big kid.

You are crawling everywhere {fast!} and pull up on anything you can to stand. That includes couches, tables, and any stray limbs. And what a grip! I’m glad to see that clawing your way up my legs is a fun new exciting way to stand.

All of these new mobile abilities have presented quite a few new problems… Babyproofing has become a twice-a-day affair. Getting you to sit still and eat has become…. very hard. And these days, you are SO over your carseat.

Being buckled in for longer than 10 minutes must really be cramping your style. Any longer than that, and you become a hot mess, inconsolable from the front seat. The 30 minute drive to pick up your “Dada” from work has become, well, loud.

{It is so hard to drive while he is flailing around bawling behind me, BTW. It’s heartwrenching! Do I pull over and prolong the tears in an attempt to make him happy, or just get where we’re going as fast and sane as I can?? It’s a rock and a hard place, my friends…}

Also, you have come to appreciate what I call The View.

The View.

From Mom’s arms.

Nothing must look as good from anywhere else, because this is where you insist on seeing it all!
My little Velcro Baby ❤

I'll just keep alternating between lugging you around and chasing you around, and you just keep being cute, mmkay? Deal.

All my love,
Momma

ps- STOP GROWING UP!

Wordless-less Wednesday

My Wordless Wednesday posts have never been wordless! So here you have it, Wordless-less Wednesday!

Little Man is enjoying being able to hold himself up on things. Everything! I have to be careful when picking him up, because he has been grabbing onto any and everything he can! I snapped this quick picture at a family get together last week, pardon the bad lighting!

Big Boy Means Big Toys

Chazz is growing up way too fast for this momma’s liking. His 6 month birthday is right around the corner and I’m in denial. I’m stunned! What happened to my baby?! I never gave him permission to grow up. That oh-so-precious first year is almost half way over… I wish I could slow down time, just to enjoy as it as much as I possibly can. Or rewind and live it again.

Life is a-changin’!
I used to worry if he was getting enough milk. What his cries meant. If his poop was too green!
Now I’m packing away 3-6 outfits.
All of his new toys are 6m+.
I bought The Sippy and about a dozen different feeding contraptions. He even feeds himself bananas in his new mesh feeder.

He’s pushing up and scooting.

He’s holding himself up and tripoding.

And he’s taking to his first sippy like a champ!

As hard as it is to take in, it’s exciting to witness all of those connections being made, the lightbulbs, all of the firsts. And it seems that he has a new one to suprise us with every day!

I just know I’ll be cherishing these next six months, they can go by so fast.

A Mini-Milestone

Chazz held himself up standing all on his own today. It was quick, but he did it!
He was gripping on to my hands while I pulled him to stand, and once there, he grabbed onto the bars of the baby gate and stood there on his own! It was a good 20 seconds before he looked at me all stunned, flashed a big grin, and then toppled over.
In that amount of time, Roman was able to turn on our camera, toss it to me from the othe side of the room, and I snapped two quick pictures.

Congrats to my tough little man!
