To Catch Up

Now that things have calmed down, and I have time to sit and write (or sit at all!), I can catch up on what’s been going on. Not to mention, I forgot to have the Internet switched to the new house and had to wait all weekend for WiFi….

With a little a lot if help from out fam and friends, we are all moved in to our new place. And by that I mean, it’s quite a wreck! There are empty boxes, full boxes, and boxes of boxes as far as the eyes can see. But it is all (slowly) coming together, and we love it!

Chazz is really enjoying the hardwood floors, and the advantages they offer. He has figured out how to push himself (backwards!) across the living room. At which point he peeks at us from around the corner!

We too are loving the new house, and all of the space it offers. It has also inspired me to start meal planning better. We are farther out of town now, and any last minute trips to the store will be costly. More on that later, and look forward to some yummy recipes!

It feels good to have our lives {somewhat} back in order. And I promise to post some cute pictures of the Chazz-man ASAP!

Identity Crisis! Moved to WordPress!

It’s official! I’ve moved my lovely little blog from blogger to wordpress. It’s a little bare right now, a little plain Jane. But I couldn’t be more pleased! So bare with me (pun!) while I get it all together. I heard ther is a learning curve with wordpress, so if you have any tips, please feel free to share!

Plum Organics Baby Food Review and Giveaway- Ends May 31

Freezer running low on homemade baby food? Or maybe between working and being a wife and mom, you just don’t have the time to make it? Well, don’t stress it, because EcoMom.com is bridging the gap between eco-friendly baby products and your front door.

I recieved a few samples of Plum Organics baby food to try with Chazz, and I couldn’t be more pleased. They have multiple blends and stages, from new eaters to toddler-friendly Revolution Foods. And the best part is you don’t have to stress about what’s going in your little one’s tummy!

There is a good variety of flavors! Chazz and I recieved Plum Organics Baby in
-Pear Mango
-Sweet Potato, Corn, and Apple
-Spinach, Peas, and Pear
And Plum Organics Tots in
-Peach Mish Mash
-Strawberry Mish Mash

What I Think:
The first one I tried (yes, me!) was the Pear-Mango blend. It was smooth for my beginning eater, and it actually tasted like pear and mango, no funky after taste. Looking at the ingrediants is comforting. Organic pears. Organic mango. That’s it! No fillers, no toxins, and not one thing I can’t pronounce.
It comes in an BPA-free pouch with a twist off lid. Let me tell ya a secret. I squeezed it right out of the pouch, onto a spoon, and right into my Little Man’s mouth. No mess. No waste. And only a spoon to wash!

What Chazz Thinks:
I knew he loved pears, but this blend takes the cake. He had those deep belly laughs after every bite!

And later, the refridgerated pouch made a great teether!

Whoopsie Wednesday- My First Mommy FAIL

My very first Mother’s Day is coming, and I have to say, I’m pretty excited. There is nothing better than being a mom!

In celebration, My Little Life is hosting Mother’s Day Mania- five days of some fun themed posts, all in honor of awesome moms!

Today in Whoopsie Wednesday-So here it is, my first (and worst) mommy fail!

Chazz was 6 weeks old. I was sitting on the couch, and he was next to me propped in the corner with a pillow. I don’t know what I was thinking, but I got up to yell something to Roman in the kitchen. And in that split second, the worst happened.

I don’t know what the hell I was thinking. That maybe he couldn’t possibly move? That he was safe for a quick sec? Or maybe that because I was “right there” nothing could happen…

But sure enough, he managed to thrust himself right off of the couch.

I didn’t even see it. I just heard the “thud.”

In that moment, I looked over, and my heart sank. Just the silent look of panic on his face before he screamed is enough to make me feel sick every time I think about it. My feet didn’t even touch the ground, before I was right there, with him in my arms wailing. And I was crying right there with him.

I just held him close. And even though he was over it in no time, I still felt like a crappy mom. My heart was just crushed! I couldn’t believe myself. They tell you a million times to NOT do that! I let my little man get hurt… and it was all my fault.
A.Big.Fat.Mommy.FAIL!

Believe me, I wanted to crawl in a hole and not come out. But mommin’ is all about learning… And thank goodness we learn from those whoopsie moments. I’m thankful he was ok, but wow was that an eye opener for me. I would never ever ever leave him anywhere by himself again!

Whew! I’m glad I got that off my chest! Now head over to get linked up… I know I’m not the only one with a deep dark mommy fail secret!

Thoughts And Prayers

I am having a hard time keeping myself together.

Chazz had his eye appointment today. I had made it about a month ago, because we were concerned about his left eye not tracking well.

Thank God for a mother’s intuition… because something was really wrong.

Chazz has Optic Nerve Hypoplasia in his left eye. His optic nerve is underdeveloped and his vision in that eye might be severely impaired. ONH can occur alone or with hormonal and neurological abnormalities.

So far, we don’t know much… We will be going in for an MRI on Tuesday to asses the situation and go from there. They will look at his optic nerve to see how developed it is and looking at his brain itself for any abnormalities.

I’m a little nervous about the MRI. This involves anesthesia. Little Man has to be out so that he doesn’t move. He doesn’t get to eat for four hours before.

I can’t help but think the worst. Thats how I am. I feel just aweful that he has to go through all of this. Like somehow this has to be my fault. Or I could have prevented this… Or I at least should be able to take his place.

This is going to be a long week of waiting. And I’ll be holding my little man extra close.

Please Don’t Steal My Baby…

I went through and added a watermark to my pictures. It was kind of a pain. But I heard about some crazy lady using other peoples maternity photos on her blog. And I am officially creeped!
So these are MY photos. Of MY baby.

Please don’t steal my baby…

The Past Couple Days…

Have been all about catching up and cleaning up! Filled the fridge, ordered diapers (size 3!), finally got out on another walk!

I’ve been so busy, I completely forgot Chazz has an eye appointment this week! They were booked out a month or so and I spaced it. I made an appt with a specialist because every once in a while, one of his eyes goes…. wherever! Our pedi said they don’t worry about it until they are a year old. But I worry about it now, so we’re going in now!

This week, Little Man has been loving his bathtime. He splashes around like crazy. I can barely get him clean before I’m soaked! We are mourning the loss of his rubber ducky…it was kidnapped by the dog. It ended up in little yellow and orange pieces in our hallway! Is that some form of sibling rivalry???

Digital cameras have made it too easy to take a billion and a half pictures! And so I leave you with some of this week’s captures:

A Dose of Sunshine

Roman and I have wanted to take Chazz on a walk all week, but the weather has been rather crappy!
We got up this morning, expecting to pack up the little one and finally get out of the house. But of course it snowed here in BFE last night, and that’s what we woke up to!
Thank goodness the sun came out, and the snow melted by mid-afternoon, so we were able to go. I worry if my little winter baby gets enough sunlight! Anyway, the walk was refreshing for this cooped-up momma, and hubby time is always so nice!

Mr. Chazz ended up being bundled up in blankies when the wind picked up.

What a cutie!

Daddy even took some good pictures:

It was nice to get some fresh air finally. The walk was wonderful. Refreshing. There were little kids fishing and big fluffy clouds in the sky!

I really hope spring decides to visit The Big Sky soon…
